Thank you for the opportunity to assist you with the preparation of your income tax return(s). To ensure a clear understanding of our professional relationship and responsibilities, please review the information below.
We will prepare your income tax return(s) based solely on the information you provide. Upon completion, all original tax documents will be returned to you. Although our office may retain scanned copies for record-keeping purposes, you are responsible for maintaining all documents, receipts, statements, and other records that support the income, deductions, credits, and positions reported on your tax return(s). This includes, but is not limited to, documentation for meals, travel, charitable contributions, business expenses, vehicle mileage, bank statements, credit card statements, and any other supporting records. These documents may be required by taxing authorities to substantiate the accuracy of your return if it is selected for examination. We recommend that you retain all tax-related records for at least five (5) years after the return is filed or its due date, whichever is later.
Our engagement to prepare your tax return(s) does not include any procedures designed to discover fraud, errors, or other irregularities. While we will exercise reasonable professional judgment in interpreting and applying tax laws, it is important to understand that the tax law contains areas of uncertainty, and taxing authorities may challenge positions taken on your return. Unless you instruct us otherwise, we will take reasonable and supportable tax positions in your favor when permitted under applicable law. However, we cannot guarantee how any position will be interpreted or resolved by the IRS or state authorities.
Please be aware that we cannot be held responsible for issues, penalties, delays, or additional tax liabilities that arise from information that was incomplete, inaccurate, omitted, or provided after the return was filed.
Service Fee Notice:
If you choose not to file your tax return after we have completed the preparation, a non-refundable fee of $75.00 will be due immediately for services rendered. If payment is not made and our firm must pursue collection efforts, you may be responsible for reimbursing the firm for reasonable costs incurred in the collection process.
