  • POSITION DESCRIPTIONS 

     

     

    Kitchen Prep Assistant

    (Pre-Event & Day-Of)

    Responsibilities include:

    • Prepping produce, proteins, sauces & event ingredients

    • Assisting with batch cooking and tray assembly

    • Portioning, labeling, and organizing items for transport

    • Maintaining a clean, sanitized prep area

    • Supporting the chef during busy event days


    Experience Note:

    Kitchen experience is helpful, but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate who is motivated, reliable, and eager to learn.

      

    Dishwasher / Utility Support

    Responsibilities include:

    • Dishwashing and sanitation

    • Cleaning prep areas, tables, and equipment

    • Assisting with light prep (peeling, portioning, organizing)

    • Emptying trash and maintaining cleanliness

    • Helping load/unload supplies for events

    Experience Note:

    No prior experience required — we will train someone with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.

     

     

    Event Staff / Event Assistants (Day-Of)

    Responsibilities include:

    • Event setup & breakdown

    • Buffet setup: chafers, utensils, signage, décor

    • Replenishing food during service

    • Passing hors d’oeuvres

    • Assisting with beverage and juice stations

    • Providing warm, friendly hospitality to guests

    • Maintaining a polished, professional presentation


    Experience Note:

    Experience is a plus, but we will train the right candidate who brings professionalism, reliability, and the willingness to learn event service.

    KEY REQUIREMENTS

     

     

    Please review the following requirements before submitting your application:

     

    • Must be available weekends and at least 1–2 weekdays for kitchen prep
      Kitchen experience is preferred, but not required — we will train the right candidate who is motivated, reliable, and eager to learn
    • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and follow instructions
    • Must be reliable, punctual, and professional at all times
    • Must have reliable transportation to our commercial kitchen at:
      218 W. Cummings Park, Woburn, MA 01801
    • Must be willing to travel out of state for select catered events (CT, NH, RI, etc.)
    • Must be respectful, team-oriented, and committed to excellent service
    • Must be able to complete a W-9 form (for 1099 contractor classification)
    • Must sign an Event Service Agreement for each event confirming pay, responsibilities, and call times
  • Do you have any kitchen, prep, catering, restaurant, or hospitality experience?*

  • We provide 3–4 weeks’ notice for events at minimum, when possible more notice will be provided. Is this acceptable for your schedule?*
  • These roles are per diem 1099 independent contractor positions. Do you acknowledge and agree?*
  • A W-9 form is required for all per diem team members because these positions are independent contractor (1099) roles.The W-9 simply collects your legal name, address, and tax identification number (SSN or EIN) so that Best of Both Worlds Cuisine can issue the proper tax document (a 1099-NEC) if you earn $600 or more in a year. This form does NOT affect hiring eligibility, and it does not require work authorization verification like a W-2 employee. It is only for tax reporting purposes and is kept confidential. Are you able to complete a W-9 before your first event assignment?*
  • Do you have reliable transportation to Woburn, MA and surrounding event locations?*
  • Are you willing and able to travel out of state for select catered events? (Some of our clients book events in surrounding states such as Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, and occasionally beyond. Reliable transportation and flexibility for travel are important for these assignments.)*
  • Do you have all-black attire suitable for events (or willing to purchase)? (FYI Black Shirts with our logo will be provided, must be returned at the end of the event.)*

    Pay rates vary by position, experience level, distance, and event type. Final rates will be discussed after application review and confirmed in the Event Service Contract for each assignment.
