    Whistle Space is a research platform for artistic and political practice. Part artist/ scholar residency, part somatic nourishment program, it is meant to center Black arts and their relations with a focus on the body as a nexus for expression, sustenance and resistance. In summer 2026, Whistle Space will host its 2nd annual Summer Institute in Williamstown, MA from July 5th to July 18th, with travel dates being July 4th and 19th. Facilitators include Dr. Kemi Adeyemi, Salome Asega, Dr. Ayasha Guerin, Dr. Joy James, Dr. Romi Morrison, Utē Petit, and Sarah Workneh. participants will engage with a renowned cohort of facilitators to examine the key themes of Whistle Space's agenda—Body, Food/Land, Technology and Organizing. All participants will be paid a fee to attend. All travel, lodging, food and childcare (as needed) will also be covered. The deadline for submitting an application is February 5th, 2026 at 11:59 PM PST.

If you would like to submit a link to Vimeo, Youtube or another streaming platform, please include the link, password (if required) and timestamp for viewing per work.
