In accordance with its Standards Review Policy and US Department of Education regulations, the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine (ACAHM or Commission) is undertaking a comprehensive review of its Comprehensive Standards and Criteria to ensure that its requirements for accreditation are adequate to evaluate the education and training provided by the institutions and programs it accredits and relevant to the education or training needs of students.
The draft revisions include numerous substantive changes, as well as minor, nonsubstantive revisions to clarify but not change existing guidance. All additions and deletions are indicated with red font.

Before making any substantive changes to its Comprehensive Standards and Criteria, it is the Commission’s practice to provide notice to all relevant stakeholders and constituencies of proposed changes; give the interested parties adequate opportunity to comment on the proposed changes; and use the input received to help inform final decisions.
