What is the Callejo Leadership Academy?
The Callejo Leadership Academy focuses on preparing North Texas leaders with accelerated training to equip them for the campaign season and the challenges of public service.
Is the academy affiliated with LCLD?
Yes, the academy was inspired by the succesful LCLD. Organizes include the Founding Executive Director and first cohort alumni. The Callejo Leadership Academy is a program of the Callejo Botello Foundation (501(c)(3)).
Do you have to be Latino to apply for the academy?
No, individuals from any background are encouraged to apply.
Do I have to commit to attending all seminars if I'm accepted?
Yes.
Payment and Sponsorship Details
Checks should be made out to the “Callejo Botello Foundation.” Donations are tax-
deductible.
Cost of Participation
Selected participants will pay a $2,000 fee, with payment plans and limited scholarships available. Fees cover seminar expenses, speaker honorariums, meals, space rental, and materials.
Application Process
Applicants must submit an online application, resume, headshot, and participate in a virtual interview.

- Decision Notifications: January 12, 2026
Eligibility
Applicants must reside in one of the following North Texas counties: Collin, Cooke, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Grayson, Hunt, Johnson, Kaufman, Parker, Rockwall, Summerville, or Tarrant.
