    Resume Development Document

The Browning Associates team deeply appreciates the time and thought you will invest in completing the Resume Development Profile. While it may initially feel like a significant undertaking, this work is the foundation of your career promotion and professional reinvention. It is not simply paperwork—it is the heart and soul of your value proposition.

This document forms the essence of:

    Your passion statement
    Your competitive advantage
What sets you apart from every other candidate in the marketplace
How you are perceived, positioned, and presented to the world
The insights you provide here will shape the next generation of your résumé, your social media presence, and your verbal messaging. This is it. This is the crème de la crème of who you are and how you will be introduced to the universe.

Because of that, we ask that you take your time. Dig deep. Reflect honestly. Bring forward the best of the best of your talents, achievements, values, and aspirations. This is not busywork—it is the blueprint that will define and elevate your career trajectory for years to come.

    Why This Matters

Your résumé is a living, breathing representation of your professional story—a story that must be continuously refined, sharpened, and adapted to the opportunities ahead. It is an evolving response to the demands of a fast-moving marketplace. No résumé is ever truly finished; it is constantly shaped by new roles, new goals, and new audiences.

However, it can only become what it needs to be if we develop it together.
This profile gives us the raw material to craft a powerful, door-opening résumé and the full suite of branding documents necessary for a successful executive marketing campaign.

  • Please generate as many relevant achievements as possible from your career, using the following SOAR framework. These ‘stories’ need to be recent and relevant to the career direction you are wishing to take. Paint the picture, while keeping it brief…. give statistics, if possible, as it creates a greater WOW factor.

    SOAR Framework:

    * Situation: What you needed to do, why you needed to do it, and the type of difficulties you were confronted with.

    * Obstacle or Opportunity: What your objective was and what was in the way.

    * Actions: What you did and how you did it, using active verbs (such as "designed," "saved," "redirected," etc.)

    * Results: Obtained in quantifiable or measurable terms (e.g., dollars saved or earned, percent improvement, numbers involved, etc.). Even if figures are not applicable in some instances, describe the results in tangible or measurable terms.

  • BRANDING STATEMENT:

  •  Most candidates are working from the same job description and therefore present very similarly in the interview. What will your brand punchline be? That is, why should the company hire you? Formulate a rough draft of your Branding / Value Statement. Compose at least 2 rough paragraphs – at this point in the process, more is better; don’t worry about syntax, grammar, etc. as this is just raw material; include what you feel are the most important overall accomplishments and credentials that set you apart as the best possible candidate for your “dream job.”
