Many products require certification. It is your responsibility to know and procure the appropriate certificates. Information can be found in the Farmers' Market Manual and Resource Guide.

Either the Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) or the Produce Best Practice Training (PBPT) certificates is required to have a sampling certificate. PBPT is a Kentucky-specific voluntary basic food safety training available through local extension offices. This program is a prerequisite for sampling certificates and a good idea for anyone growing produce.

The Jessamine Occupational Tax Office states: "Vendors are required to fill out a form that gives the vendor an account number." This is a free service. Use the Jessamine County/City of Nicholasville Questionnaire for Occupational License Fee Account form to register for a business license fee account.
