  • If you think you may have been exposed to HIV, PEP can help prevent infection.
    PEP (Post-Exposure Prophylaxis) must be started within 72 hours (3 days) of possible exposure — the sooner, the better. It involves taking medication for 28 days.

    How to get PEP:
    • Go to an urgent care clinic, emergency room, or healthcare provider immediately
    • Connect with AHF Healthcare Centers for support, evaluation, and care
    • Find a nearby location at www.hivcare.org or www.aidshealth.org
    • Call AHF or visit online to locate same-day services near you
