2026 Buddha’s Light Baby Blessing Ceremony｜A Fresh, Bright Start for Your Child

Begin the new year by giving your child a meaningful and joyful start.
Fo Guang Shan Temple of Toronto warmly invites families with children ages 0–6 to join our Buddha’s Light Baby Blessing Ceremony on New Year’s Day—an uplifting moment to offer blessings for health, happiness, and confident growth in the year ahead.

The celebration includes a blessing ceremony, parent-child games, a Robot Photobooth, face painting, and a delicious vegetarian lunch.

It’s a heartwarming and memorable way for families to spend January 1—sharing smiles, creating joyful memories, and welcoming 2026 with hope.

WAIVER OF LIABILITY :

I hereby declare that my child and I are in good physical health, and that we are able to participate in the Fo Guang Baby Blessing Ceremony, organized by the International Buddhist Progress Society of Toronto (also known as "Fo Guang Shan Temple of Toronto", and hereafter the "Organizer"), to be held on January 1st, 2026. However, if my child or I should experience any physical or health problems during the event and are unable to continue our participation in the said event, we will leave voluntarily. If medical care is required for our illness, I will be fully responsible for the costs incurred. In case of an emergency with respect to my child's or my own health condition, I hereby authorize the organizer to take any immediate, reasonable action in their best efforts. Should any personal injury or property damage occurs due to my own negligence, intentional acts or any undiscovered sickness that we/I may have during the event, I will be solely responsible and will not hold the Organizer or any of its Buddhist monastics, staff and volunteers from any and all liabilities, whether direct or indirect, and hereby waive all claims, demand for expenses, actions and cause of action against the Organizer and/or its representative. During the event, if my child or I experience any extraordinary physical conditions which interfere with the participation of other participants, I will accept the instructions of the organizer and leave the event without dispute.

By signing below, I acknowledge that I have read and understood the above, and accepted the conditions contained herein. By my signature below, I also represent that I have signed on behalf of my child, and am the legal guardian of the said child.

MEDIA RELEASE AND CONSENT AGREEMENT

I understand that there will be the usage of media during my participation, and my child's participation in the "Fo Guang Baby Blessing Ceremony held on January 1st, 2025" and related events organized by the International Buddhist Progress Society of Toronto (also known as "Fo Guang Shan Temple of Toronto.", and hereafter the "Organizer"). This agreement allows me to be recorded, photographed, and filmed during my participation.

I release all claims against the Organizer and affiliates for rights, titles, and interests in all photographic images and video or audio recordings that are made by Fo Guang Shan Temple of Toronto during my participation, and my child's participation in "Fo Guang Baby Blessing Ceremony held on January 1st, 2025," including, but not limited to, any royalties, proceeds, or other benefits that are derived from such photographs or recordings.

By signing below, I acknowledge that I have read and understood the above, and accepted the conditions contained herein. By my signature below, I also represent that I have signed on behalf of my child, and am the legal guardian of the said child.
