As of 2026, The Borough of Rumson is beginning a review of its Master Plan. Our Master Plan is a long-term document adopted by the Planning Board and endorsed by Mayor and Borough Council that guides the community’s future.
In accordance with the state statue on Land Use, as we prepare for the upcoming review of The Borough’s Master Plan, we are asking residents to share their opinions with us. Whether you’ve lived in Rumson for decades or just recently moved in, we want to hear your thoughts, concerns, and ideas so we can better understand what residents value most when it comes to our development, continued growth and conservation efforts throughout the Borough.
What are we looking for?
Your thoughts on:
- Preserving Rumson’s character and neighborhoods
- Traffic, pedestrian safety, and local mobility
- Parks, recreation, and open space
- Housing, land use, and community needs
- Local services, infrastructure, and long-term planning priorities
- Environmental resilience, flooding, and conservation
Please know that we cannot guarantee all thoughts, ideas and feedback will be used as we plan out the next phase of our long-term community development. However, your feedback is an important part of planning thoughtfully for Rumson’s future and we look forward to hearing your thoughts.
