IGNITION CALL FOR PROPOSALS
21st EDITION MAY 13th – JUNE 13th, 2026 DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS: FEBRUARY 15, 2026, AT MIDNIGHT
Selected artists will be notified by March 2 at the latest.
The Leonard & Bina Ellen Art Gallery is currently accepting project proposals from Concordia University students enrolled in the MFA in Studio Arts, the PhD in Humanities, or the Individualized Program (INDI) for its annual exhibition IGNITION. This event provides an up-and-coming generation of artists with a unique opportunity to present the results of their research in a professional gallery setting with both a national and international profile. Students and the Gallery team work together to produce an exhibition that highlights critical, innovative, and experimental work engaging with a wide range of media and practices. The exhibition will feature between five and nine projects selected by a guest curator or critic. The proposed work must be a new project (produced within the last 12 months) and must not have been previously exhibited in Montreal. Proposals for off-site projects or performance works are welcome. Past IGNITION participants are not eligible.
