Volunteer Roles
Judge: Role Overview
Volunteer Judges will evaluate students’ Concours d'art oratoire speeches, ask follow up questions, and select the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd-place winners with their judging team (two to three volunteers), according to the Concours d'art oratoire 2026 Evaluation Rubric. An advanced or native level of French is required.
Room Host: Role Overview
Room hosts direct competition sessions. They greet and welcome competitors and guests, allow judges to introduce themselves and facilitate the flow of the competition by calling up the competitors. You are responsible for timing each competitors’ speech and filling out the time keeping form. At the end you will distribute certificates to all participants. You will excel at this role if you’re confident in front of people. Aspiring teachers, this role is great for you! Ability to speak French is an asset and is required for Francophone categories.
