The Youth Apprenticeship Summer Program is a 7-week paid apprenticeship opportunity from June 29, 2026 - August 14, 2026, where eligible students currently completing Grades 10 and 11 in Newfoundland and Labrador will be placed with local trades-based employers. 

During the 7-week program, students will be employed for 35 hours per week under journeyperson supervision and will have the opportunity to earn hours and skills towards their apprenticeship. 

To be eligible to participate students must be in good academic standing, complete an online application, and have a reference from a teacher. The student has provided your name as a reference. 

When submitted, your reference will go directly to Skills Canada NL. The contents will not be shared with students. If the student is successful, some information may be shared with funding partners as part of the reporting and apprenticeship requirements or with the employers to ensure a successful program experience.
