Course Description:

The Mat-Su Area Office is offering two free in-person Basic Wildland Firefighter Courses (S130/S190/L180) for individuals interested in entry-level wildland firefighting. This 50-hour course provides foundational skills required for firefighting operations and certification.

- Registration does not guarantee acceptance into the course.
- Applicants will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, pending confirmation.

- To fulfill course requirements, you must complete an in-person field day and pack test.
- These courses will NOT be offered virtually, and you must be physically present in Alaska to attend
