TERMS OF SERVICE – WAIVER OF PARTICIPATION
Quick Overview
You understand that martial arts and contact sports carry the risk of serious injury or worse. You agree not to hold the organiser liable for any injuries, accidents, or losses occurring during this event. You acknowledge that the organiser may use your personal data to contact you regarding future events and related business activities. By accepting this waiver, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to all terms below.
Risk of Bodily Harm
I hereby assume full responsibility and liability for any and all damages, injuries, or losses that I may sustain or incur while participating in or attending the United Kingdom Golden Gloves – Leeds, England – 2026. I acknowledge that serious injury is common in combat sports, including this event, and that death is a possibility. I further understand that injuries may result in disability, disfigurement, or long-term health consequences that may affect my ability to work or function normally. By entering this competition, I fully accept and assume all risks and expressly waive any and all claims that I, or anyone acting on my behalf, may have against the organiser, its board members, promoters, operators, sponsors, officials, participants, non-participants, or volunteers for any injury or loss of any nature resulting from my participation or presence at the event. I authorise any medical personnel present at the event to take any action necessary should I become injured, and I agree to hold such personnel harmless. I represent that I am in good health, not under the influence of drugs or medication while participating, and that no one associated with this event has encouraged me to compete or made representations regarding my fitness to do so. I confirm that I have read and understand this waiver and am legally competent to enter into this agreement.
Privacy and Personal Data
By registering using my MBI membership number, I understand that I am granting permission for the organiser to contact me regarding newsletters, event updates, promotions, and related communications. I understand that spectators may be admitted, the event may be filmed, livestreamed, photographed, or covered by media, and content may be broadcast worldwide. I hereby irrevocably consent to the use of my image, likeness, and performance without expectation of compensation and waive any rights relating to such use.
Disputes
The organiser reserves the sole and absolute right, with or without cause, to deny an athlete’s registration or application to compete in the event. The terms athlete and competitor may be used interchangeably. If any dispute arises relating to your participation in this event, by submitting your registration you expressly waive your right to file a lawsuit in any city, state, or federal court and your right to a trial by jury. The term “dispute” includes any matter connected to the event, including claims of injury (which you have already expressly waived).
