Have you ever wondered where your story begins or where your roots lie? The Return to Our Roots – Ancestry & Heritage Tour is designed to immerse you in Ghana’s history and culture through guided tours, storytelling, and meaningful experiences.

All travelers are welcome — whether or not your DNA results show African ancestry. If your results reveal African lineage, you’ll receive an exclusive discount. Either way, this journey offers a unique opportunity to learn, reflect, and celebrate heritage.

Tour Details
- 🌍 Group Size: Up to 25 guests per tour
- 🕒 Duration: 5 days / 4 nights
Daily Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrival & Welcome
- Arrive in Accra, Ghana
- Airport transfer to hotel
- Welcome & Meet-and-Greet: Light refreshments, introductions, overview of tour
- Optional evening outing in Accra
- Overnight in Accra
Day 2 – Accra Cultural Tour
- Full-day guided tour including Jamestown, Usshertown Lighthouse, W.E.B. DuBois Centre, Independence Square & Black Star Square, Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park
- Return to Accra hotel for overnight
Day 3 – Cape Coast Immersion
- Early morning departure for Cape Coast
- Full-day guided tour including Cape Coast Castle, Kakum National Park Canopy Walk
- Overnight in Cape Coast
Day 4 – Assin Manso & Wrap-Up
- Morning visit to Assin Manso Slave River (reflective cultural experience)
- Return to Accra in late afternoon
- Farewell Dinner / Welcome Home Ceremony
- Overnight in Accra

🧬 How the DNA Kit & Ancestry Discount Works
Once your 25% deposit is received, your reservation is secured and the next steps begin:

• DNA Kit Fulfillment
If you selected a DNA kit, it will be ordered and mailed directly to you through your chosen provider (AncestryDNA or MyHeritage). Afrimart International Travel & Tours does not handle DNA samples or testing.

• If You Already Have DNA Results
If you have previously completed a DNA test with AncestryDNA or MyHeritage, you may upload a screenshot of your ethnicity estimate summary instead of receiving a new kit.

• Submitting Your Results
Once your DNA results are available, you may voluntarily submit a screenshot of the ethnicity percentage summary for discount verification purposes only.

• Discount Application
After your results are reviewed:

A 10% discount will be applied if your results show any African ancestry
A 15% discount will be applied if your results show Ghanaian ancestry
The applicable discount will be applied to your remaining tour balance, not the initial deposit.

• No Impact on Tour Participation
DNA results are not required to participate in the tour. Travelers who choose not to submit results may still attend the tour.
