The Virginia Society of Radiologic Technologists announces its student internship program. This program is open to students currently enrolled in educational programs in Radiation Sciences in the state of Virginia.
The internship program offers students the opportunity to:
- Acquaint themselves with the inner workings of a professional organization
- Network with technologist leaders
- Understand the responsibilities of VSRT officers and Board Members
- Learn how educational meetings are structured and presented
- Network with future employers
To be considered for the program, the student must:
1. Complete the required application form.
2. Provide a letter of reference from their educational program director
3. Submit an essay which includes:
- Why they chose Radiologic Technology for a career
- Their career plans after graduation
- The role of professional organizations in the technologist's career
4. Be a VSRT Student Member
The student intern will:
- Attend VSRT Board of Directors meetings with their mentors (required)
- Attend the VSRT Annual Student, Educator, and Technologist Seminar with their mentor.
- Be provided lodging for the VSRT Annual SET Seminar. Student Interns may be required to share rooms.
- Receive reimbursement of up to $20.00 per day for meals during the Annual SET Seminar, consistent with the VSRT Expense Voucher
- Students will receive one-year free active membership during the year following their internship.
Up to four students may be selected to participate each year. Those selected will shadow a VSRT Board member at quarterly board meetings and at the annual meeting.
