This 10-hour training is designed for individuals in recovery and their allies who are interested in strengthening their voice and impact within the behavioral health and human services systems. Advocacy can be a powerful tool for change, yet many people are unsure where to begin or how to effectively navigate complex systems. This training provides a supportive, community-centered space to build the knowledge and confidence needed to advocate for oneself and others.
Participants will explore key topics including effective communication, trauma-informed advocacy, holistic stress management, and understanding systems of oppression within human services. Through interactive discussions and practical skill-building, attendees will learn how to share their experiences in ways that inform change, influence decision-making, and promote recovery-oriented systems. This training empowers participants to move from lived experience to leadership, strengthening both individual and collective impact.

Michaela Fissel holds a masters in conscious studies and transpersonal psychology with a concentration in supporting recovery during the transition to adulthood through a generationally relevant and developmentally appropriate approach.
