The Young Amenity Horticulturist of the Year competition celebrates emerging talent in public and community green spaces. Each year, we recognise future leaders who care deeply about the places where people live, play, and connect.
This competition highlights practical skills, leadership potential, and a strong appreciation for amenity landscapes. It supports the development of confident, capable kaitiaki who will help shape the future of Aotearoa New Zealand’s parks and open spaces.
The competition is open to individuals under 30 years of age in the year of entry and currently employed in a botanic garden, open space, park, or native reserve setting.
Finalists will have their registration fully covered to attend the Green Pavlova Conference at Claudelands Events Centre, providing an outstanding opportunity to deepen their professional development.
