TWO WEEK ADJUSTMENT AFTER PURCHASE

A two week adjustment is completed two weeks after purchasing an instruments from The Sydney String Centre. We do an overall check of the instrument, focusing on the position of the bridge, the tuning of the instrument, and making any adjustments as necessary.

INSTRUMENT SERVICE

An instrument service involves checking over the instrument including the bridge, strings and bow, cleaning the instrument, and tuning it up. Any work in addition to this will be discussed with you at the time of drop off.

PLEASE NOTE: Most instruments purchased from us can be serviced at Annandale. Some instruments purchased from us, and any instruments not purchased from us, will be taken to our Chatswood workshop for servicing.

STRING CHANGE

A string change involves replacing any strings that may be broken, snapped or worn out. Changing your strings ensures your instrument is always playing at its best. A string change may involve replacing a single string, multiple strings, or a full set.

PLEASE NOTE: Most instruments purchased from us can have their strings changed at Annandale. Some instruments purchased from us, and any instruments not purchased from us, will be taken to our Chatswood workshop for string changes.

NEW PARTS AND REPAIR ASSESSMENTS (DROP OFF ONLY)

New parts include:
+ New bridge or bridge adjustment
+ Soundpost adjustment or fitting
+ New tailpiece
+ Peg service
+ Fingerboard Reglue

For more extensive work, or to get a damaged or neglected instrument back into playing condition, a repair assessment is required. Repair assessments are $110, paid upfront, which can be put towards the cost of repairs.

PLEASE NOTE: Any extensive work will need to be assessed by our experienced workshop team at our Chatswood store. We will not provide an assessment on the spot. Instruments and bows requiring repair assessments which are dropped off in Annandale may take longer to be assessed and returned.

BOW REHAIRS AND RESTORATIONS (DROP OFF ONLY)

Rehairs start at $150. We recommend looking at purchasing a new bow if the value of your bow sits below the cost of a rehair.

PLEASE NOTE: Your bow will be sent to Chatswood to be seen by our experienced workshop team for assessment, and will therefore take a minimum of 5 business days.
