  • Fayette County Cattlemen Senior Scholarship
The Fayette County Cattlemen Association will award multiple scholarships up to $1000 to deserving high school seniors graduating in the class of 2026 who are attending an accredited four-year college or an accredited two-year technical institute in the 2026-2027 school year. The senior, their parents, or their grandparents must be a current Fayette County Cattlemen member to receive this scholarship. Preference will be given to the students who display a recognition of the importance of agriculture education in our youth and community and have chosen to further their education in the field of agriculture.
Preference will also be given to those applicants that have been involved in the beef industry during their youth. Examples of this could include working on a family beef operation, being involved with a beef project through 4-H or FFA, or working on a local beef farm.
Any 2026 high school graduate who meets the following requirements is eligible to apply for the Fayette County Cattlemen Scholarship:
Must be a graduating senior that is the child or grandchild of a Fayette County Cattlemen member for the $1000 scholarship.
Applicants must expect to be accepted at an accredited university, college, or vocational/technical institute for an agricultural degree program.
Applicants must have and provide a copy of a 2.5 or higher GPA (accumulative) following their first semester of school.
An award certificate will be given in the spring of 2026 during the applicant's high school senior award program. The scholarship applicant will be required to verify their enrollment and a first quarter or semester grade report from their college or university by January 30, 2027, to receive the payment.
The winner will be invited and strongly encouraged to attend the Fayette County Cattlemen's Association banquet to be awarded the scholarship check, typically in February of each year.
The Fayette County Cattlemen Scholarship winner of a 2026 scholarship must use the money before June 1, 2027, or forfeit it. Should the winning applicant fail to complete at least one semester of full-time enrollment prior to June 30, 2027, scholarship funds must be returned to the Fayette County Cattlemen. Failure to meet enrollment requirements will result in the forfeiture of the scholarship.
Complete the application form and send it together with a 200-word or less letter of recommendation from one non-relative (teacher, minister, or other community leader) to:
