VAPW Undergraduate Scholarship Application Form

Application Deadline - Sunday, March 8, 2026 by 11:59 pm PT
Purpose:

VAPW strives to educate, prepare, and engage the next generation of professional Vietnamese-American women in areas of leadership and development, to mentor and encourage them to enter professional careers, and to inspire community responsibility and participation. With this scholarship, we aim to recognize demonstrated (and emerging) community leaders who are devoted to investing their careers in the Silicon Valley communities.

In order to complete your application, you must submit an official transcript from your current or most recent high school and/or community college and one letter of recommendation (If you face financial barriers in obtaining an official transcript, we may accept an unofficial transcript on a case-by-case basis. Please reach out to us if this is the case).

For this additional documentation, please have an administrator from your school and/or your letter-writer email the document(s) with your full name and the type of document in the subject line to vapwscholarship@gmail.com. (Example: "Jane Doe - Official Transcript"). We will NOT accept letters of recommendation or official transcripts sent from the applicant unless an exception has been made prior.

The eligibility requirements for the VAPW Scholarship Application are as follows:
- Female student of Vietnamese ethnicity
- Have never previously been awarded a scholarship from VAPW
- High school senior or community college student matriculating to a 4-year university
- Resident of Silicon Valley
- Acceptance to a college or university for the 2026-2027 academic year
- MUST be available one of the following dates for an interview via Google Meet: Saturday April 25, 2026 and Sunday April 26, 2026
- MUST be available for in-person Scholarship Ceremony in San Jose, California on May 21, 2026 (ceremony will be after 5 pm)
Selection criteria for the VAPW Scholarship include:
- Financial need
- Commitment to uplift and serve the Silicon Valley communities
- Leadership experience and potential
- Academic excellence

In order to complete your application, you must submit an official transcript and one letter of recommendation.

The letter of recommendation must come from someone who has worked closely with you in an advisory manner (i.e.: teacher, principal, work supervisor, professional mentor). Your recommender can not be a peer or someone you are related to.
- Official transcripts must be sent from an administrator from your school or from the official transcript provider (i.e.: parchment).
- Letters of recommendation must be sent directly from the recommender.
