TRIO Talent Search Field Trip and Michigan Tech Hockey

Learn about careers in athletics and ice management! Then attend a Michigan Tech Hockey Game!

TRIO Talent Search participants in grades 6th through 8th are invited to join TRIO on February 27th, 2026, for an exciting day of exploration and hockey action!

Visit Michigan Tech's athletics department and learn about various career pathways in the local community.

Students will also enjoy dinner on TRIO at a local restaurant or dining hall.

Students will be picked up from their school after lunch and dropped off in the late evening after the hockey game. Please pay attention to drop off locations to select the best option for your family.

As always, this trip is completely free, with all costs covered by TRIO.

Important Note:

By completing and submitting this form, you are letting us know of your interest. Your registration is not complete until the school has approved your absence.

Steps:

1. Student & Parent/Guardian - complete and submit the below registration form.
2. TRIO will contact the school for approval of the student's absence.
3. Students will be contacted by TRIO to confirm their registration after approval from your school has been received.
4. A final itinerary will be emailed a few days before departure.

Travel Guidelines

Please review the following guidelines so you know what is expected on the trip. Failure to follow the guidelines by any student may result in ineligibility to travel with TRIO in the future.
- Arrive on time to the pick-up location.
- Be responsible for yourself and your possesions.
- School rules still apply while on field trips.
DRESS CODE

All attendees are expected to wear appropriate attire for the activity. Remember to dress appropriately for the season as weather can change dramatically.
- Seasonally and situationally appropriate clothing is expected to be worn. BRING A JACKET!
- Closed toe shoes must be worn at all times. Students will be doing a lot of walking so comfortable shoes are highly encouraged!
- If it would not be okay for school or work it is not okay for the field trip.
STUDENT AGREEMENT

I understand the Travel Guidelines, including the dress code, and that I am personally responsible to ensure my own compliance and cooperation.

I understand that my school reserves the right to deny my participation in this trip if there are concerns regarding my attendance, academic standing and progress, behavior, etc.

I understand that I will miss school and therefore it is my responsibility to ask my teachers for the work I will miss and complete it.

Pick up will be at school after lunch, a snack and dinner will be provided to all students. Since students will be returning after typical school hours there are additional drop off locations, please select the option you would like for your student. This will be the location we will drop them off at after the field trip.*

TRIO Staff regularly carry the following over-the-counter medications:

Ibuprofen (Advil/Motrin)
