  • Coastal Caravan Art Fair @Oliver Art Center - Application

    Please fill out the form below to be considered for inclusion in the Coastal Caravan Art Fair at Oliver Art Center. This juried fair will take place outdoors on July 25th at the Oliver Art Center in Frankfort, Michigan. Thank you for your interest!
  • Terms of participation in the Coastal Caravan:

    It is the goal of the Oliver Art Center to provide the public with an art fair experience that is of high quality and variety, while offering participating artists an enjoyable opportunity to sell their work. Artists are responsible for their own booth displays, setup, and sales, and will keep 100% of their proceeds.
  • DATES & TIME

    Please submit your application as soon as possible. Jurors will make their selections and you will be informed of your acceptance beginning in April. The event will be held Saturday, July 25th at the Oliver Art Center, 132 Coast Guard St. in Frankfort, MI. Vendor set-up will begin at 8:00 am, the fair will be open to the public from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm.
  • MEDIA

    Coastal Caravan is a juried art fair. All media are accepted. Items must be original in design and handmade. Reselling of manufactured items or repurposed, commercially made products is not permitted. The artist must be in the booth for the event.
  • SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

    Each applicant must submit a minimum of four digital images, including three of current work and one of a fully-stocked booth. Artists working in more than one medium must have all media represented in their image set. Artists working in multiple media do not have to submit separate applications for each media. Select "Multiple Media" in the application drop-down menu.
  • FEES

    There are no application fees. If accepted, your booth fee will be $65.00. Accepted artists will be sent an online invoice. You will be asked to submit your booth fee within two weeks of your acceptance. The booth fee is non-refundable after June 1st unless the Oliver Art Center cancels the event. The event will be held "rain or shine", unless there is dangerous severe weather in the immediate area.
  • JURY INFORMATION

    Applications are reviewed in random order by a panel of three jurors and ranked on a scale of 1-5. Images are viewed on a digital display all at the same time, in the same location. This is a closed process and the determination of the jury panel is final. Jurors are encouraged to avoid duplication when possible.
  • SALES TAX

    Each artist is responsible for collecting their own sales tax and should have a current State of Michigan Tax License, which can be obtained through the Department of the Treasury for the State of Michigan.
  • BOOTH SHARING

    No more than two artists per booth, both artists must submit complete applications but can qualify for a shared fee. Please let us know who you would like to share a booth with. If only one artist is accepted into the show, you will be given the option to rent a full booth.
  • BOOTH POLICY

    Outdoor booths are 10' x 10', set up on asphalt. Please note ONLY straight 10' canopies are allowed. Tent weights are required. Stakes are NOT allowed unless you are in a space next to grass. Plan for wind, rain, and sun as we are very close to Lake Michigan. Electricity is available on a very limited basis. A limited number of indoor booths are available in our Fisher Room, and measure 6' deep x 8' wide. Indoor booths are subject to availability, please indicate your preference.
  • REFUND POLICY

    Booth Fee refunds will be as follows: Through May 15th: full refund less $10 processing fee. May 16th through May 31st: 50% refund of booth fee. June 1st on: no refunds issued.
  • OTHER POLICIES

    Generators are not allowed on-site. The artist(s) must be present in their booth, no agents or representatives. Exhibitors agree that participation is at their own risk, and that applying to the Caravan means you release Oliver Art Center, its employees, volunteers, board members, and representatives from any and all liability. You give Oliver Art Center permission to use your name, images, or media in promotional materials. There is no smoking or vaping on the grounds. Parking is on the streets of Frankfort or as directed by the Caravan staff in the adjoining lot. Load-in and load-out will be directed by staff, as space is limited for vehicles. No trailers without prior permission. You will need to unload your vehicles and then exit the parking area before setting up your display. Please be patient.
