    4. What to bring: Suitable clothing for movement and martial arts. Tracksuits, sportswear or comfy yoga garments are perfect. Trainers, in case weather is fine (for potential outdoor work.) ASHA is a rural area - if travelling from the city, remember it's colder in the countryside, especially as we go into autumn. Even though our beautiful space will be cosy and adequately heated - a warm hoodie or sweater is still recommended!

Please bring a packed lunch and adequate hydration. A bottle of water is recommended. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be available in the main house kitchen during the breaks.

We recognise that many in the holistic community have alternative modes of dress and style but we do recommend jewellery and piercings etc be removed or covered during the course. Likewise, excessive makeup is not recommended whilst doing this kind of training. Be natural, loose, comfy and ready to move. Use common sense! The management and course leader take no responsibility for potential injuries caused by stray earrings or excessively long nails!

Feel free to bring a notebook or pen and you are welcome to take pictures or videos of any exercises but we request that you do this at the end of the day and keep mobile phones off and away during our sessions in order to keep the learning as hands on and organic as possible and to respect the meditational nature of the martial arts traditions.

A note on younger people and children. This training is not suitable for young children, however they are very welcome to watch if behaving well and accompanied by a responsible adult. Situations can be considered on a case by case basis. Parent or guardian discretion advised. If in doubt contact the course leader with your queries.

    5. Insect allergies. ASHA is home to the odd bee and the occasional hornet or mosquito! Please be aware of this of take any precautions that you need to (insect repellent etc)

    6. Health and Well-being.
In terms of self-care, you are responsible for pacing your own energy during this fun, active martial arts day. Stay hydrated and work within your limits. Use common sense regarding your own fitness levels. There will be plenty of warming up and safe limits on contact. The course is gentle enough for beginners and all ages. But remember, the business of martial arts does involve sweating, physical movement, encountering other peoples arms and legs etc. Use common sense. Pace yourself. The management and course leader do not take any responsibility for any actions or decisions you take within the workshop ... or afterwards, when you have become a badass ninja!

    7. Responsibility and Boundaries.
Personal Responsibility: You are responsible for your own well-being, emotions, and actions during the course. We ask that you take full responsibility for your journey, with openness and compassion.

We request that you are punctual in regard to start times, lunchbreaks etc.

Respect for personal space and emotional boundaries as we learn martial arts is essential. If at any time you feel uncomfortable, please reach out to the space holders for support.
