  • Book Award Question:

The current U.S. Administration has taken actions to decentralize the Department of Education, aiming to return more control over curriculum, funding, and accountability to state and local governments and to encourage school choice (like vouchers for private/charter schools).

In your opinion, what are the potential long-term benefits and risks of this shift toward greater state/local control and expanded school choice for:

    1. Your high school's/university's academic rigor and curriculum content?
    2. Equity and access to high-quality education for all students across your state?
    3. Your post-graduation path (college admissions, job training, etc.)?
