2026 USTA Chicago Community Tennis Coach Application

Thank you for your interest in becoming a Community Coach for USTA Chicago this year. Our programming takes place in over 40 neighborhood parks as far north as Indian Boundary Park, as far west as Hale Park, and as far south at Crescent Park!

This application is intended to provide us with a good picture of you, your availability, and your ability to provide excellent instruction as part of our team. Instruction opportunities begin in March and will continue through the end of October. Each type of instruction requires training which is paid. Please fill out each question to the best of your ability and current knowledge.

Day Camp Instruction

Station-based activities focused on introducing basic hand-eye coordination and racquet handling skills to youth ages 6 to 12.
Instruction occurs as part of CPD’s 6-week day camp.
USTA Chicago attends each camp every week for as much time as is necessary for all campers to receive one hour of instruction each week.

Youth and Adult Tennis 101 Classes

Traditional red ball and orange ball instruction in class format.
USTA’s Net Generation curriculum allows players to gain understanding of basic skills in a supportive, play-based format.
Classes held in 6-week sessions with one hour class held every week.

Adult Cardio Tennis Classes

Adult fitness classes run on a tennis court focusing on fast-paced games, high energy coaching, and upbeat music.
Lower compression orange balls are used to equalize skill levels and extend the length of points so athletes maximize cardio benefits.
Classes held in 6-week sessions with one hour class held every week.
