AREA 1C LEAGUE PLAYOFF COACH INFORMATION
Dear Area 1C Coaches;
Congrats on finishing your seasons in such a great fashion, and welcome to a fun tournament where you will compete against other teams from Area 1C. This will be a fun and rewarding weekend, but we will all need to work together to guarantee the success for our youth.
Please review these rules and policies for the League Playoff Tournament; after you have reviewed them, please select the link at the bottom, which will take you to a sheet where you will verify that you have read these rules and policies.
SCHEDULE
- The weekend schedule is posted on the ayso1c.org website, under PROGRAMS, then League Playoffs.
- If you finished top of your division, your’re team A from region, if you finished 2nd, you’re team B, and so on (for example, 12UG Region 88 winner is 12UG 88A, and runner up is 88B).
- This is a single elimination format, so if you win, you move onto the next round.
First through 4th place will receive medals on Sunday; the champions of each division will move on to the Section 1 Finals, and in the 14UG division, so will the runners up.
FIELDS
There is a link on the ayso1c.org website under the FIELDS tab with directions to each location.
TEAM CHECK IN
- You will have to check in your team before your first match on Saturday
- Please check in at the check in table at the field for your first match an hour before your match
- Have your team together so you check in as a team
- If you have any players missing during your team check in, you will have to return to the check in desk to check that player in
- Have one copy of your team roster with you
- Bring 4 line up cards, printed on hard stock to the check in and hand them to the volunteers
- Complete your lineup card; make sure to include your team number (214A, 40B, …), region, division, coach names, and players in ascending jersey number
- Volunteers will check the player names with the roster, and will ask them their birthdates
- When they are done checking in your team, they will give you wristbands for you to put on your players’ wrists
- Volunteers will hand you back all of your game cards for you to take to your matches
- Wristbands have to be worn during the weekend, if a player loses one, you have to go to a check in table at the field, and check in the player again
- If a player is absent for your first match, you will have to check in the player before the next match
- For your players to be eligible to play, they must have played in at least ½ the Core season, and must have registered before the deadline of October 31, 2025
- If a player is found to be ineligible, the team will forfeit the match
- Make sure you have a copy of each player’s registration form with the parent’s signature
MATCHES
- Home team is the team listed first, and will occupy the west or north side of the field, and the away team will occupy the opposite side
- Home team provides two game balls, away team one
- In case of uniform color conflicts, home team will wear pinnies
3 quarter rule for substitutions; each player must play at least ¾ of every game he/she plays in; if because of roster size, any player has to play ½ a game, no other player can play the entire game, and no player can play only ½ a game until everyone else on the team has as well
- Single elimination format; winner moves on to the next round
- Spectators on the same touchline as your team, and between the two penalty area lines
- No spectators beyond the penalty area lines nor behind the goals
- There will be a 10 minute grace period at the beginning of the match for a team to get its minimum number of players to start; if unable, the match will be forfeited
- During the first two rounds, basically Saturday, if a match ends in a tie, it will go straight to kicks from the mark; no overtime; however, during the first two rounds, anyone on the team (on the field or on the bench) can take part in the kicks from the mark
- During the medal rounds, Sunday, if a match ends in a tie, it will go to two 5 minute overtime periods, then if still tied, it will go to kicks from the mark; only players on the field at the end of the match will take part
- There will be some travel possible between matches, but the schedule allows for teams to get to the next round if they win and move on
