  • Cwmaman Budget & Priorities Consultation 2026-27

Tell us what matters most to you - and how your local budget should be spent. Closing Date - Monday 12th January 2026
  • Who We Are

Cwmaman Town Council is made up of 15 local councillors who volunteer their time to represent the community and make decisions on your behalf. They’re supported by a small staff team of six, most of whom are also local residents. Together, we help manage the Council’s finances, maintain community spaces and buildings, support local events, and keep everyday services running as smoothly as possible.
  • Cwmaman Town Council is here to represent your voice and invest in what matters most to our community.

As we prepare our budget for the year ahead, we want to ensure every pound spent reflects your priorities, whether that’s looking after our parks, supporting the Community Centre, running local events, providing community grants or protecting our environment. This consultation will help us make informed choices about what to fund, where to improve, and how best to use our limited resources. Your views are vital - please take a few minutes to complete this short survey and help shape the future of Cwmaman.
  • Section 1 - Parks and Open Spaces in Cwmaman

Cwmaman Town Council is proud to offer a wide range of parks and play areas across the community currently 11 in total. Last year these cost £56,094 to service and maintain, this includes items such as maintenance and repair, cleaning, emptying of bins, grass cutting and flower planting. We’d like to understand how these are being used, and whether there are opportunities to improve or invest in particular sites to meet current and future needs.
  • Section 2 - Community Centre & Community Assets

Cwmaman Town Council is responsible for maintaining five community buildings and the Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA). These include the Community Centre in Glanaman, the public toilets at Glanaman Square, the Community Hall (former council office/workshop), Bwncws y Bannau, and the Bowls Pavilion in Garnant. Keeping these facilities open, safe and useful for residents involves ongoing costs. Last year these cost £58,234 to maintain, this includes items such as utilities, Insurance, business rates, equipment, waste management, maintenance, health and safety items and inspections. As part of our budget planning, we want to understand how these spaces are being used and whether there are opportunities to improve them or use resources more effectively.

  • Section 3 - Community Grants & Local Funding

In previous years, Cwmaman Town Council has set aside part of its budget to support local groups, clubs and charities through small community grants. These grants help fund everything from youth activities and wellbeing projects to local events and environmental work. As funding is limited, we want to make sure this money is used where it can make the greatest difference. Your views will help us understand how important this funding is, and what kinds of groups or projects should be prioritised in future.
  • Section 4 - Community Events and Initiatives

Community events can bring people together, celebrate local identity, and offer opportunities for families, neighbours and friends to connect. From summer fun days to festive celebrations, events help create a sense of belonging in Cwmaman. We’d like to understand how important these activities are to you, what types of events you'd like to see more of, and how we can make sure they reflect the interests of the whole community — especially when setting future budgets.
  • Section 5 – About You (Optional)

This helps us ensure we are hearing from across the community.
