About the Roots & Wings Scholarship

The Roots & Wings Scholarship was created to ensure that all children who would thrive in a Montessori environment have the opportunity to access it, regardless of financial circumstances. The scholarship is designed for families who are deeply committed to Montessori principles and who value a strong, collaborative partnership with the school. “Roots” represents the foundation we build for every child—security, belonging, and a love of learning. “Wings” represents their future—independence, confidence, and the freedom to grow into their fullest potential.
Application Deadline & Notification

The deadline to apply for the 2026-2027 school year is Tuesday, March 31, 2026. Scholarships for the 2026-2027 school year will be awarded by Thursday, April 30, 2026.

1. Your Family’s Financial Picture
Please tell us about your family’s money situation right now. Include things like: How much money your household makes in a year, and big bills you have (rent/mortgage, car payments, medical bills, etc.), any debt you’re paying off, anything you own that’s important (car, home, savings), a recent struggles (job loss, medical issues, unexpected expenses). Please also explain why paying Montessori tuition without help isn’t something your family can afford now or in the future.
2. Why Montessori?
Tell us what drew you to Montessori schooling. For example: How did you first hear about Montessori? What made you interested in it? Have you visited any Montessori schools, read anything about Montessori, or had any past experience with it? Let us know how long you’ve been looking into this for your child.
3. About Your Child
Please tell us about your child as a person. Share things like their personality, what they’re good at or enjoy, what they’re curious about or interested in, how they learn best, and anything important about their health, behavior, development, or family situation that we should know.
4. How Your Family Will Support Montessori Learning
Montessori works best when families and the school work closely together. How do you plan to support your child’s education? Examples might include: coming to parent meetings or workshops, volunteering when you can, observing in the classroom, helping with learning at home, being involved in school events, being available as a substitute teacher or helper. Tell us what feels realistic for your family.
5. If Your Child Is in Another Program
If your child already goes to another daycare, preschool, or school, please explain why you want to move them to Montessori, what isn’t working well for them where they are now, and what you hope will be better in a Montessori environment.
6. How You Found This Scholarship & What You’ve Tried So Far
Please tell us how you heard about this scholarship, and any steps you’ve already taken to make Montessori possible (such as touring schools, applying elsewhere, joining waitlists, saving money, or looking for financial help).
7. VIDEO QUESTION (5–10 minutes)
