  • What This Form Is For

    If you think we made a mistake in your application or decision, you can ask us to look at it again. This is called an appeal. Once a final decision is made, there is no further review. The decision is final and cannot be appealed again.

    You must send your appeal:

    • within 30 days (or 60 days for relocation appeals) from the date on your decision letter;
      AND
    • before signing a grant agreement or other legal documents, unless the law says otherwise.

    If you need more time, you can ask for an extension in writing prior to the appeal deadlines outlined above. You may ask for up to two extensions.

    What You Can Appeal

    Rules and laws cannot be appealed. Only decisions made by the program can be appealed. You can ask us to review decisions about:

    • If you can get help (eligibility)
    • How much help you get (award amount or Duplication of Benefits)
    • What kind of help you are offered (award type)
    • What work we said we would do (scope of work)
    • If we said you owe money back (recapture)
    • If we gave you enough time or choices
    • If we denied a request for a reasonable accommodation
    • Relocation services required by federal law (relocation)
