Dublin-Laurens FVSU Alumni Chapter Scholarship 2026-2027
  • The Dublin-Laurens Fort Valley State University Alumni Chapter will award a scholarship to a student from the Dublin-Laurens County area. The scholarship recipient will be notified on or by April 1, 2026, regarding his/her selection for the scholarship. The recipient will receive a One-Thousand-Dollar Scholarship ($1,000.00) to be given in two (2) increments of $500.00 each semester (2025 - 2026). The funds are to be payable to the Scholarship recipient and the funds are to be used for tuition, books, or room and board.

  • In order to be considered, you must be:

    A graduating high school senior at a school in the Dublin or Laurens County school districts or a continuing FVSU student that’s enrolled at the University. A student must have a minimum 2.5 grade point average. A student who has applied, been accepted as an incoming freshman at Fort Valley State University with a financial need. Criteria based on academic performance, extracurricular activity and financial need. The student must present to the FVSUNAA “Dublin-Laurens Chapter” a statement of enrollment for the fall quarter in order to receive the Scholarship. This application must be submitted by March 12, 2026. You may also mail your completed application and supporting documents to: FVSUNAA, Dublin-Laurens Chapter ATTN: Scholarship Committee, P. O. Box 4534 Dublin, Ga 31040. The mailed application must be postmarked by March 12, 2026.
  • Application Materials

    Each applicant must submit the following information: (1.) A completed FVSU application form with an acceptance letter from FVSU. (2) An official copy of your academic transcript sealed and signed by school Counselor. (3.) A typed 200-300 word essay. Topic: Each student comes to Fort Valley State University with a unique history, educational goal, and dreams for the future. What would it mean to you to be offered one of the Dublin-Laurens Chapter of Fort Valley State National Alumni Association scholarships? Please address your career goals, aspirations, and your reasons for wanting to attend FVSU.  Include any additional information that you feel may be helpful to the committee in determining your merit to receive a scholarship is encouraged such as, church affiliation, community activities, volunteer and financial needs. It is not mandatory, but it is preferred that the essay be double spaced, 12 font, 1-inch margin left, right, top, and bottom. (4.) Three letters of recommendation from teachers, employers, or extracurricular activity advisors. Do not include relatives.
