    PARADE DATE: SATURDAY, JANUARY 17, 2026 APPLICATION DEADLINE: TUESDAY, JANUARY 13, 2026. 2026 PARADE THEME: “Walk Together in Unity with Purpose.” ENTRY FEE:$30.00 up to two (2) units, $50.00 up to four (4) units, $60.00 up to six (6) units. Max of 6 units. Churches, scouts and neighborhood associations will be charged the following: first (1) & second (2) are free, $30.00 up to four (4) units and $40.00 for up to six (6) maximum units.School and Governmental Institutions: NO COST WITH A MAXIMUM OF TWO ENTRIES.PLEASE ATTACH THE SYNOPSIS OF ORGANIZATION WITH APPLICATION.     2026 THEME: “Walk together in Unity with Purpose”

     PLEASE OBSERVE THE FOLLOWING GUIDELINES BEFORE, DURING AND AFTER THE PARADE.

     


    GUIDELINES FOR PARADE PARTICIPANTS

    • Parade starts promptly at 10:00 AM.
    • Theme: “Walk Together in Unity with Purpose”
    1. All entries must display a banner/sign reflecting the 2026 theme.
    2. Signs must be visible (~4” height) with bold 2” thick letters. Professionally designed or stenciled. Non-compliant entries will not be permitted.
    3. No loud, profane, vulgar, or explicit music/dancing allowed.
    4. Participants must report to the lineup area by 8:00 AM. Buses should be parked at 1420 West 10th Street, drivers remain with buses.
    5. Do not throw candy or items at children along the parade route.
    6. No performances until you reach the parade viewing stand.
    7. Parade Ambassadors and parade Participants: Please do not allow any large gaps or space between units.
    8. Viewing stand is along Martin Luther King Blvd. near Dan Calloway overflow parking lot. Parade route: Congress Ave → East on MLK Blvd → Ends at MLK Blvd & Avenue P.
    9. Parade numbers issued Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at Public Safety Building, 1481 West 15th Street until 7:00 PM (Aladia Franks-Edwards). Dignitaries, public safety agencies, masonic lodges, scouts, and parade honorees may pick up numbers Thursday, January 15, 2026, by 5:00 PM. No numbers issued on parade day; unclaimed spots are forfeited.
    10. Placard placement: dashboard left-hand side or held by walking group member on curbside.
    11. Walking groups: member holds number on right side near curb as group approaches viewing stand.
    12. School bands: line up in center (west side of MLK Blvd & Congress Ave). Bands may perform at viewing stand (max one minute) when parade halts. Strictly enforced.
    13. Follow all instructions from assigned parade ambassadors.
    14. Vendor opportunities: Register online! Please contact 561-845-3412 or 561-882-3509. Limited food/exhibit tents available.
