    Please complete the following registration for the 2026 Syndemic Symposium, organized by the MT DPHHS STD/HIV/Viral Hepatitis Section. The symposium will be May 13 - 14, 2026, in Helena, Montana. 

    The 2026 Syndemic Symposium will focus on the intersection of multiple epidemics and the social and structural factors that influence risk, access to care, and health outcomes across Montana. The two-day event will feature presentations on preventive strategies including HIV PrEP and DoxyPEP; congenital syphilis; supports for people at high risk of HIV, hepatitis C, and STIs; and human trafficking. 

    The symposium will highlight the critical need for comprehensive, systems-level approaches to address these overlapping public health challenges. Experts will share data, community-informed strategies, and real-world examples of approaches being used to strengthen prevention, testing, treatment, and linkage to care efforts. 

    We are committed to ensuring the Syndemic Symposium is accessible to anyone who is interested in attending and recognize that travel may not be supported by all agencies. A limited number of travel scholarships are available. Priority for travel scholarships will be given to individuals who serve tribal populations, have been in their current position for two years or less, lack other travel funding sources and would otherwise be unable to attend, or work in Maternal and Child Health, STD/HIV/HCV, or Substance Use Disorder. Remaining scholarships will be distributed based on demonstrated need and order of submission.

    Please complete the following registration and, if needed, the travel scholarship section. Those applying for travel scholarships must complete the form by Friday, March 27, 2026. Scholarship winners will be notified by Friday, April 10, 2026. Those not applying for travel scholarships must submit the form by Thursday, April 30, 2026.

    Booking Information:

    For participants requiring hotel accommodations during the symposium, you are responsible for booking your own room at one of the following three hotels. We kindly ask that you reserve a room at the Delta Hotel first, as we have a required room block at this location. Your help in meeting this commitment is greatly appreciated. Please ensure to book your room at your earliest convience.

     

    Reimbursement Information:

    Attendees awarded with a travel scholarship and provided hotel accomodations must cover the cost of their stay upfront. Reimbursements will be processed after the symposium.

    To receive reimbursement, attendees must:

    • Submit a completed W-9 form, which will be sent along with scholarship notifications. 
    • Provide a zero-balance hotel receipt to staff at the registration desk on the last day of the symposium.

  • Important Scholarship Information: 

    • Attendees awarded with a travel scholarship must agree to attend the entire symposium 
    • It is the responsibility of each travel scholarship recipient to complete all required travel reimbursement forms and submit them to MT DPHHS staff. Reimbursement will be issued only after the completed forms are received 
    • Reimbursements (at the amounts listed above) will be processed after the symposium
