    SEMINAR APPLICATION FORM

    Eligibility: Individuals who have, or will have, policy-setting and leadership responsibilities for Artist-Endowed Foundations—directors, officers, trustees, board members, senior staff—as well as those supporting an artist's long-term art stewardship planning, including with respect to a potential foundation. (Please see Seminar Eligibility and Application Guidelines, below.)

    Admission: By open application. Selection determined by Seminar Admissions Committee.

    2026 Application Timeline:
    Monday, January 19 – Application Deadline
    Monday, February 2 – Acceptance Notification
    Monday, February 9 – Tuition Payment Deadline
    Monday, February 23 – Opening Reception
    Tuesday, February 24 – Opening Class

    Tuition: $5,750 USD, due upon acceptance notification and no later than February 9, 2026.

    Refunds: No tuition refunds will be made. In the case of an inability to participate, with prior approval by AEFI tuition may be applied toward participation in the subsequent Seminar if the individual remains in a foundation leadership position at that time.

    Completion Certificate: Conferred by the Aspen Institute Artist-Endowed Foundations Initiative | AEFI.

  • ABOUT THE APPLICANT

    UPLOAD ONE SINGLE PDF FILE CONTAINING THE FOLLOWING ITEMS:

    (1) Applicant’s personal letter stating their motivations and goals for participation in the Seminar, particular interests, and expectations of the Seminar experience.

    (2) Current CV (no longer than four pages); and

    (3) Two letters of recommendation, provided by individuals familiar with the current or prospective leadership responsibilities, addressing how the applicant potentially would benefit from, and contribute to, the Seminar.

  • ABOUT THE FOUNDATION

    UPLOAD A PDF FILE CONTAINING THE FOLLOWING ITEM:

    (1) The foundation’s most recent Form 990-PF (if exemption is pending, provide Form 1023, Application for Recognition of Exemption). A non-US foundation may provide its country’s comparable documentation affirming nonprofit status.

    In cases where the foundation is prospective, provide a letter from the associated artist confirming that long-term art stewardship planning activities are underway currently and the applicant is endorsed to apply on the artist’s behalf.
