The purpose of confirmation is to mark the first time a baptized Christian publicly "confirms" their intention to live the vows of the baptismal and membership covenant and so becomes a professing member of the local congregation. At Foundation, we encourage young people to commit to a series of confirmation classes which highlight the basic tenets of the Christian faith. At the end of those classes, students will be confirmed on Confirmation Sunday, April 5, 2026. This class is offered for all 6th-12th grade students.
By registering for confirmation, both parent/guardian and student agree to the following commitments:
- To attend all 10 classes and be on time to the best of their ability. Classes will start on Monday, January 12, from 6:00-7pm and will continue every Monday until Easter Sunday - Confirmation Sunday, April 5. All dates of class meetings include Jan. 12, 19, 26, Feb. 2, 9, 16, 23, Mar. 2, 9, 23.
- To inform Gary and/or Clinton if there will be an absence.
- To recruit an adult mentor to attend classes with the student. This mentor will be a non-family member of the same gender as the student and active at Foundation.
- To make-up any classes with Gary and/or Clinton.
