StoryBook Theatre is casting the following roles for a workshop of "A Concrete Jungle Book" by Joe Slabe
A Concrete Jungle Book tells the story of Michael, a foster child with a vivid imagination. Whenever the world gets a bit much for him, he retreats into the amazing world inside his head, and the people in his life become the characters from his favourite story – The Jungle Book. But, just like Mowgli, Michael is pulled between two worlds and needs to find the place where he belongs.
StoryBook Theatre is committed to reflecting the diversity of our community. We believe in equity and inclusion, and strongly encourage submissions from those who self-identify as being from under-represented groups. StoryBook will consider all qualified individuals in our hiring decisions regardless of gender, age, race, sexual orientation or physical ability. We will consider actors of any ethnicity or cultural background for each of the following roles.
A Concrete Jungle Book incorporates traditional musical theatre, pop and rap styles of music so experience with these styles of performance and movement are a definite asset. It is important to the story that the performers be as culturally diverse as possible so Artists of Colour are strongly encouraged to apply and will be given serious consideration.
