BIBLE STUDY: Jesus and the Disinherited by Howard Thurman
CO-FACILITATORS: Nate Abrams (Ben Hill UMC) & Bill McKinnon (St. Paul UMC)
WHEN: Begins January 26, 2026 via Zoom
TIME: 7pm-8:30pm | Length: 7 weeks
During the month of January, as we pay tribute to the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., this illuminating study will be shared with members of St. Paul UMC in Grant Park. We honor Dr. King's legacy by wrestling with the same spiritual questions about fear, hatred, love, and justice that undergird his philosophy of non-violence. A change is coming soon so why not be the change by enrolling in the study of Jeus and the Disinherited.
This study will deepen moral reasoning by inviting you to examine how fear, deception, and hatred shape ethical choices under oppression, an then to consider Jesus' alternative of courage, honesty, and love as concrete moral practices rather than abstract ideals.
Books can be purchased at various retail outlets; Amazon, Wal-Mart and Cokesbury are some. Also available on Kindle.
