    The focus will be on creating poems of self-reflection and self-discovery. The goal is that participants can create two poems in the time that we have, with enough time for sharing.

    “Spoken Notes,” is speaking of language that begins on the page but finds its full breath when spoken aloud. The term “spoken word” often feels tied to slam stages, bold performances, and poets who have mastered commanding a room. That can be intimidating for people who don’t want to command or compete but simply share. 

    Spoken Notes Artist is what Linda Jones was more comfortable calling herself and her musings that sometimes rhymed, oftentimes didn’t.  If it made her feel comfortable, she felt calling the workshop by that name would be a good way of signaling that all manner of people and their expressions are welcome here.  

    About Linda Jones

    Linda Jones is a writing and wellness doula, certified Grief Recovery Specialist, and devoted legacy keeper. Her work blends mindfulness, creative expression, and emotional care—guiding people toward healing, clarity, and focused self-care through the written word.

    A former career journalist, Linda also advises on AI fundamentals and champions reflective storytelling that preserves family legacy and strengthens our collective memory.
