Thursday, February 12th from 6pm-8pm

Join Clay Place Instructor Megan Perry in this one-day workshop all about creating beautiful hand-carved votive/candle jar!

Students will get to create a beautiful hand-carved candle jar that will help brighten up the darker winter months. Instructor Megan Perry will guide students through the delicate process of carving personalized patterns into clay cylinders for home decor that will create unique ambient lighting that play and scatter light when candles are lit inside.

Participants can expect to create up to three votive candle holders with 3 glaze colors to choose from. After the workshop, the projects will be dried, fired, and glazed in-house. Pick-up will be available roughly 2-3 weeks after the workshop.

This class is recommended for intermediate/advanced students with some clay experience.
Suggested for students ages 15 and up. Cost of class includes all instruction and materials.

Students, visitors and staff are expected to maintain a standard of behavior conductive to the community spirit of learning and working at the Umpqua Valley Arts (UVA). Any individual in violation of these standards will not be allowed to continue classes and any remaining tuition will be forfeited. UVAA reserves the right to refuse enrollment as deemed appropriate by any staff member.

Payment and Refund Policy: Full payment at time of registration is required. Up until two weeks prior to the start of the event, you will receive a full refund (minus a $10 service charge) should you need to cancel your registration. However, cancellations made after this two-week time frame are nonrefundable. Should UVA cancel the event, all participants will receive a full refund or credit toward future classes.
