  • Meet Your Maker is a year-long film portrait project documenting people who create across disciplines - writers, musicians, artists, builders, performers, and others rooted in the act of making. All portraits are photographed on film, with an emphasis on presence, process and honest representation rather than performance or polish. The project is limited by availability, scheduling, location, as well as the cost of film and processing; as a result, not all applicants may be selected. Selection is based on project cohesion and practical constraints and does not reflect the value of an individual's work. The intention is for the project to culminate in the creation of a cohesive series and possibly a photo book.

  • A maker is someone who brings something into being through intention, skill, and iteration. Not just consuming or curating, but actively shaping an idea into a tangible form or experience.
