Healthcare Professionals Open letter to David Lammy

We healthcare professionals express our grave concerns about the health and lives of the eight hunger strikers in the UK, some of whom are now on day 43 of their hunger strike. On 27th November over a hundred medical professionals wrote urgently to NHS England and the prison Governors expressing their fears for the health and lives of the hunger strikers - no meaningful action was taken. We are writing again therefore, to the Justice Secretary, Governors and prison healthcare services, calling on them to urgently intervene in view of the now very serious risks now facing the hunger strikers, including organ failure, irreversible neurological damage, cardiac arrythmias, and death.
