PEORIA FASHION WEEK 2026 — DESIGNER WAIVER & RELEASE
Event Dates: April 2–4, 2026
Location: Four Points by Sheraton (Downtown Peoria, IL)
Presented by: Peoria Fashion Week + Peoria Fashion Week Academy (“PFW/PFWA”)
This Designer Waiver & Release (“Agreement”) is entered into by and between Peoria Fashion Week / Peoria Fashion Week Academy (“PFW/PFWA”) and the undersigned Designer/Brand (“Designer”) for participation in Peoria Fashion Week 2026.
1) Designer Participation & Responsibilities
Designer agrees to:
Provide garments and/or products in show-ready condition, properly sized and labeled.
Deliver items by assigned deadlines and attend required fittings/rehearsals/check-in times.
Ensure all garments are safe to wear (no hazardous components; secure fastenings; appropriate footwear guidance).
Provide accurate brand information, logos, and links for promotional use (if applicable).
Maintain professional conduct with staff, models, volunteers, venue personnel, and other designers.
PFW/PFWA reserves the right to remove any Designer from the event for unsafe items, missed deadlines, disruptive behavior, or non-compliance with event procedures.
2) Assumption of Risk
Designer understands participation includes inherent risks related to live events, backstage environments, crowd movement, lighting, staging, equipment, and handling of garments. Designer voluntarily assumes all risks associated with participation, including risks of loss, damage, or theft of garments or property.
3) Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Designer releases and holds harmless PFW/PFWA, its officers, directors, employees, contractors, volunteers, sponsors, venue partners, and affiliates from any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses arising out of or related to Designer’s participation, including (without limitation) personal injury, property loss, or event cancellation, except to the extent caused by gross negligence or willful misconduct.
4) Garment Handling, Damage, and Insurance
Designer acknowledges that garments may be handled by models, dressers, stylists, and staff. PFW/PFWA is not responsible for normal wear, minor snags, stains, or damage that may occur during fittings, rehearsal, backstage changes, or runway presentation.
Designer is responsible for insuring their own garments/products/equipment if desired. PFW/PFWA does not provide insurance coverage for Designer’s property.
5) Intellectual Property & Original Work
Designer represents and warrants that:
Designer owns, licenses, or has permission to use all designs, logos, images, music cues (if provided), and brand materials submitted.
The collection does not infringe on copyrights, trademarks, or other rights of any third party.
Designer agrees to indemnify and hold harmless PFW/PFWA from any third-party claims arising from alleged infringement related to Designer’s materials.
6) Photo/Video Release & Marketing Use
Designer grants PFW/PFWA the right to photograph, film, record, and otherwise capture Designer’s participation (including garments, brand name, logos, and runway presentation) and to use such content for promotional, educational, archival, and marketing purposes in any media now known or later developed, worldwide, without additional compensation.
Designer understands that optional add-ons (e.g., JokerVisuals shoots, advertising packages) may include additional content delivered directly to Designer; however, PFW/PFWA may still use event content for promotion as described above.
7) Sponsorship, Advertising & Optional Add-Ons
Designer acknowledges:
Participation is free, and any paid add-ons (banner, JokerVisuals photoshoot, advertising/marketing packet, etc.) are optional.
Add-ons are reserved first come, first served and are not guaranteed until paid (if applicable).
If Designer purchases add-ons, Designer agrees to provide necessary assets (logo, links, bio, etc.) by stated deadlines. Failure to submit assets may limit deliverables.
8) No Guarantee of Media Coverage or Sales
Designer understands that PFW/PFWA may offer opportunities for interviews, features, or press introductions, but media coverage and sales results are not guaranteed. Impression and reach estimates are projections and may vary.
9) Conduct, Safety, and Venue Rules
Designer agrees to comply with all venue rules, safety procedures, and staff instructions. No illegal substances, weapons, harassment, discrimination, or unsafe behavior will be tolerated.
10) Cancellation, Changes, Force Majeure
PFW/PFWA reserves the right to modify schedules, production elements, or venue logistics as needed. PFW/PFWA is not liable for delays or cancellation due to causes beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to severe weather, venue issues, labor disputes, power outages, public health emergencies, or other force majeure events.
If Designer has purchased add-ons and an event cancellation occurs, PFW/PFWA will communicate options such as rescheduling, credit, or partial fulfillment depending on what services have already been rendered (e.g., completed photoshoot).
11) Dispute Resolution & Governing Law
This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of Illinois. Any disputes shall be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction in Peoria County, Illinois, unless the parties mutually agree to an alternative resolution method.
