TSSS TRAVEL FUND APPLICATION

Funding Information:

The Travel Fund has been established with the support of New World Stoke to assist schools with travel costs associated with participation in Tasman Secondary School Sport (TSSS) events. By reducing the cost of transport and related expenses, this one-off payment will help students to access the opportunity to participate in events they might not otherwise be able to access due to financial or geographic barriers.

To assist with the equitable distribution of funds, schools have been ‘zoned’ according to their travel distance to Nelson, where the majority of TSSS events are held. Schools located further from Nelson centre have been placed into Zones 2 and 3, while those within closer proximity are classified as Zone 1. This zoning ensures that funding levels reflect the additional travel costs faced by schools further away from the central event location.

Schools in Zone 1 (Nelson Central) are eligible to apply for up to $200 total in the 2026 calendar year.
Schools in Zone 2 (Marlborough) and Zone 3 (Tasman) are eligible to apply for up to $300 total in the 2026 calendar year.
Applications must be tied to participation at a TSSS event.

Application Process:

Submission of this form constitutes an application for travel support. Applications will come to and be managed by the RSD. Once an application is accepted schools will be invited to invoice Sport Tasman for the payment/reimbursement of the accepted expenses.
