  • GMEN was selected to design and implement the Residential Stability Program for College Park residents. The program aims to reduce foreclosure risk, promote long term residency, and support recent homebuyers, renters, and micro business owners through targeted financial assistance, education, and access to housing resources.

    GMEN will provide access to housing related funding and grant opportunities, support minor home repairs and housing costs, assist with emergency preparedness and utility relief, and offer services for micro business owners.

    The program includes four assistance modules. After completing the prescreening questions below, you will see the module options on the next page. Please select your preferred module on page 2 to begin your application.

  • Before selecting your module, please carefully read over each module's specifications below:

    1.) Rental and/or Utility Assistance Module: The selection of this module allows the applicant to receive:

    • A payment of $500.00 to be applied to their rent account (disbursed to the rental account by property management as five $100.00 payments over a 5 month period)

    OR 

    • A Payment of up to $500.00 or less applied to applicant's Utility account. 


    ALL RENTAL PAYMENTS GO DIRECTLY TO THE APPLICANT'S LANDLORD. ALL UTILITY PAYMENTS GO DIRECTLY TO THE DESIGNATED UTILITY COMPANY.

    2.) Handyman Home Services Module: The selection of this module allows applicants to initially choose ONE service area  The service areas and their options are as follows:

    Basic Repairs:

    • Tighten cabinet hinges
    • Tighten doorknobs/handles
    • Replace door stoppers
    • Fix loose toilet seats
    • Patch nail holes
    • Replace light bulbs
    • Replace smoke/CO detector batteries

    Plumbing:

    • Unclog sink with plunger
    • Clean sink trap
    • Replace faucet aerator
    • Check for leaks under sinks
    • Re-caulk tub or sink

    Electrical (Safe Basics):

    • Reset Breakers
    • Reset GFCI outlets
    • Replace outlet/switch faceplates
    • Install smart bulbs or smart plugs 

    Maintenance:

    • Clean bathroom exhaust fan cover
    • Clean refrigerator coils
    • Lubricate squeaky hinges
    • Replace HVAC filter
    • Clean dryer lint trap/vent

    Minor Installations:

    • Hang pictures or shelves
    • Install curtain rods/blinds
    • Mount TV brackets (if allowed)
    • Install adhesive hooks
    • Assemble small furniture

    Cosmetic Touch-Ups

    • Touch up paint
    • Clean grout/tile
    • Polish stainless steel appliances

    Seasonal Tasks

    • Flip/rotate mattresses
    • Check window drafts
    • Test smoke & CO detectors
    • Inspect weather stripping

    3.) Emergency Home Preparedness Kit Module: The selection of this module allows the applicant to receive the following items:

    • 1 portable generator
    • 1 tarp
    • 1 fire blanket
    • 1 flashlight
    • 1 first aid kit
    • 1 set of hand warmers
    • 1 emergency escape ladder

    4.) Small Business Services Module: To qualify for this module

    • the applicant MUST be a resident of College Park Ward 2 and own a business in College Park
    • OR be a resident of College Park Ward 2 and is interested in becoming a business owner in College Park, Georgia
