Application: Radical Unlearning Study Group
Join Abolition Journalism Fellow Lewis Raven Wallace for a four-part summer discussion on his book, Radical Unlearning: The Art and Science of Creating Change from Within with special guests who are featured in the book!
This interactive discussion group will take place Thursdays July 9, 16, 23, and 30 from 10-11:30 AM eastern / 9-10:30 AM central / 7-8:30 AM pacific time on Zoom.
What creates the conditions to let go of deeply held beliefs and ideologies? How do we create fertile ground for thinking together about hard and polarizing topics like abolition, defunding the police, or Zionism? Interrupting Criminalization's journalism fellow, Lewis Raven Wallace, spent the past few years working on a book about how facts don't change our minds--and what actually works when it comes to shifting the beliefs and habits we carry from childhood. This tool is particularly useful for educators, media makers, organizers, and people trying to do the humbling work of making change in yourself and your immediate community.
Apply by June 29 to secure your spot!
You can access Radical Unlearning as an audiobook, ebook, or hardcover anywhere you get your books. Then join Lewis and special guests to discuss, explore, and build skills and community focused on cultivating unlearning in our own lives. This is a four-part study and discussion group and participants are encouraged to attend all sessions. While pre-reading is not required and we will not review the material chapter by chapter, participants will get the most out of it if they also read or listen to the book ahead of time. Registration is limited. Order Radical Unlearning as an audiobook on Libro. fm, get the hardcover or eBook from your local bookstore, or find it at your local library.
