  • MEF Band Camp 2026 High School Leadership Team Application Form

    Tuition is not due at time of application.
  • Thank you for your interest in becoming a member of the MEF Band Camp 2026 High School Leadership Team (HSLT). This position is available to 15 outstanding high school juniors and seniors (Fall 2026) and/or graduating high school seniors (Spring 2026). Total camp tuition is only $150 for the High School Leadership Team. HSLT members will receive hands-on leadership training, will participate in all camp activities and will assist camp staff as needed. Applications are accepted until positions are filled. Early registration is recommended.

    2026 CAMP DATES/CAMP SITES
    Monday, June 8, 2026, 10:00am-3:00pm: Marcos de Niza High School, 6000 South Lakeshore Drive,Tempe, AZ, 85283  Camp set-up day for HSLT and camp staff. 

    Tuesday-Friday, June 9-12, 2026, 8:30am-3:30pm for regular campers: Regular camp days at Marcos de Niza High School, 6000 South Lakeshore Drive,Tempe, AZ, 85283. HSLT members hours are 7:00am-4:30pm on Tuesday, 6/9/26. Wednesday - Friday HSLT hours are 7:40am-4:30pm. 

    Saturday, June 13, 2026: 10:00am HSLT/staff set up, 12:00-6:00pm Dress Rehearsal and Camp Concert. Tempe Center for the Arts, 700 W. Rio Salado Parkway, Tempe, AZ 85281. The free culminating camp concert will held in the Tempe Center for the Arts Theater from 4:00-6:00pm. Slight time adjustments to the 6/13/26 schedule may be made in late spring. 

    HSLT TUITION RATE
    The discounted tuition for all HSLT members is $150. There are NO REFUNDS available for HSLT tuition paid. Tuition link will be emailed to those accepted to the HSLT. 

    FIRST TIME AT MEF BAND CAMP?
    If this is your first time at MEF Band Camp, please have the brief Instructor Recommendation Form submitted on your behalf by your current band director or private music instructor. You can find the form by clicking and scrolling down on "Band Camp" on the menu bar at musicianenrichmentfoundation.org. Returning HSLT members do not need to provide the Instructor Recommendation Form. 

    ACCEPTANCE, PLACEMENT AUDITIONS AND CAMP FORMS:
    HSLT applicants will be contacted by MEF staff to confirm acceptance. Online ensemble placement audition music/instructions will be emailed to registered HSLT members in late spring. Camper permission/liability forms will be available through Jotform in late May. Links will be sent to the parent email(s) and the High School Leadership Team student emails provided on the application.

  • PROVIDING INSTRUMENTS
    If you currently use a school instrument, please check with your band director to ensure your use of your school instrument over the summer. Most directors are very happy to allow you to continue using a school instrument but you do need to ask them well in advance. You can rent most instruments for one month for $25.00 from a local music store.

    Percussion students will need to bring snare sticks, bell/xylophone mallets, and marimba mallets for camp. Please ask your band director to allow you to borrow these items for camp, if you don't own them. While we cannot guarantee that every item will be used by every percussionist, having these items available will be extremely helpful.
