    Free professional development workshops developed by WMS for members of the Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) supporting families in Wandsworth, including local volunteers, community and faith organisations, school staff, Police, social workers, MASH Workers, Early Help, Family Hubs. Funded by the Richmond and Wandsworth Council, it is part of a national initiative aimed to reduce parental conflict and improve outcomes for children.

    Led by professional mediators, these workshops will teach you how to communicate better and support the families you work with. You’ll learn practical ways to discuss relationships and conflict, and encourage positive communication for the benefit of the children. Free pizza and hot drinks provided.

    This training is certified with CPD UK. All participants who've attended both workshops will receive a CPD certificate.

    When assigning places, we will prioritise members of the Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) supporting families in Wandsworth. This includes local volunteers, community and faith organisations, school staff, Police, social workers, MASH Workers, Early Help, Family Hubs. If you are not a member of these groups, you will be put on a waitlist and we will let you know if a place becomes available.

    Dates:
    24 February 2026 (Tue), 5:30-9pm. Understanding Parental Conflict. (5:30pm for pizza, 6-9pm for training)
    This workshop explores relationship stages, causes of conflict, arguing styles, and the impact on children - including those with SEND and from diverse cultures - to help you support parents in reducing conflict.

    3 March 2026 (Tue), 5:30-9pm. Practical Communication Skills for Conflict Resolution. (5:30pm for pizza, 6-9pm for training)
    This workshop offers hands-on practice with tools like the Conflict Cake, active listening, effective questioning, and “I” statements to support parents in managing conflict and finding additional resources.
