OPTION 1: May Career Treks 2026 (May 11 - May 22, 2026
Join us for our May Career Treks 2026 where careers pathways collide with in-person employer experiennces! 10 days of nonstop education, experience and opportunity designed to help students see their future through a wider lens.
Explore the World of Work right here across Central Florida and visit a cross-section of employer sites, connect with industry professionals, help you uncover early talent expectations and competitive hiring practices.
- Join the Career Center team as we spend 10 days exploring career pathways through the perspective of industry leaders, open a digital portfolio you can share with perspective employers, identify certifications employers are looking for, and strengthen your executive functioning skills through a variety of unique networking opportunities with employer partners.
- Program also includes at least one (1) one off-site team building activity and one (1) community impact project completed as a group.
- Must be in good academic standing in order to be accepted.
- Program is not available to May 2026 graduates.
- Opportunity to earn up to 40 ELO hours for this single program.
OPTION 2: May Career Treks 2026 (May 11 - Mary 22, 2026) PLUS a 12-week Virtual Intership (May 26 - August 14, 2026)
Take your Career Treks journey to the next level by adding on a Virtual Internship completed at home/off site for the remainder of summer.
Experience the Virtual World of Work with a guaranteed Virtual Internship with a U.S. or international employer that complements your major/minor or career goals. Work can look different for so many careers; this is a great way to develop effective habits and gain experience when working virtually in a future career.
- Students in this program will first participate in the on-campus 10-day Career Treks program then return home where they will continue their experiential learning through a guaranteed virtual internship placement for the remainder of summer.
- Students will complete 1+ mandatory interviews with an employer partner before being placed.
- Once they are matched with an employer and complete required onboarding, they will be assigned project-based activities/deliverables by the employer partner alongside a work/project schedule.
- Participants are required to complete a certain number of hours each week, participate in virtual meetings, communicate as directed with an assigned Supervisor, participate in reviews/evaluations, oomplete tasks/deliver assigned projects, and maintain a schedule as advised.
- The Career Center team will offer ongoing virtual coaching sessions (as needed) and maintain weekly check-ins with student participants until the program concludes.
- Opportunity to earn an additional 80+ hours toward their ELO requirement and add another stackable experience to broaden their resume.
- Final number of ELO hours earned will be based on Supervisor Evaluation and evidence of authentic work completed solely by the student.
IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT PROGRAM COSTS:
- Each program has its own cost outside of a student's Beacon College tuition.
- Complete program costs are included on the flyer attached to this application and shared via email outreach through Handshake.
- If a student is accepted into their program of choice, the student will receive an acceptance letter that will include detailed deposit and payment information, payment schedule and next steps/requirements.
- Deposit amounts will vary by program.
- For the 10-Day Career Treks program:
- Adjustments can be made for students who live off-campus in non-Beacon housing; this will be determined upon acceptance and housing confirmation.
- Beacon Transportation is a requirement and may not be substituted.
- Failure to follow through by deadlines given will result in a student being released from their selected program.
DID YOU ALREADY COMPLETE CAREER TREKS 25 LAST YEAR?
Great news! Because you have already completed Career Treks 25 last summer, you are eligible for a virtual internship this summer. Cost to be determined.
- This means you do NOT have to repeat the 10-day on-campus program.
- You are eligilble to participate in a Virtual Internship from May 26 - August 14, 2026.
- There is no restriction on graduation date, so if you graduate in May 2026, you are still eligible for a Virtual Internship as described.
- This could be a great, short-term transition program for you as you before you secure employment after graduation.
