  • Background:

    The American Association for Cancer Education (AACE) funded READS grant program provides small grants to active AACE members in good standing who champion the highest standards for global cancer education through evidence-based practices to achieve quality outcomes. The grants are intended to assist AACE members in becoming more involved in research, education, teaching and advocacy as well as direct service on national and international levels.

  • Post-Project Commitment Requirements

    I acknowledge that, if my grant is awarded, at the completion of the funded project, and within 12 months of the award of the grant, that I will submit to the AACE Grants Committee the following documents:

    1. A written post-project summary (submitted within 60 days of the grant end-date)
      • Including a statement of budget reconciliation
    2. A preliminary draft of abstract to AACE annual conference (the International Cancer Education Conference), plans for paper submission to the Journal of Cancer Education, or plans for submission of extramural funding

    I further acknowledge that, if my grant is awarded, I will be called upon to serve as a reviewer for future READS Grant application cycles, at least two grant cycles over a two-year period, after my post-project summary has been submitted.

    Consequences for Project Non-Completion: If the project is not done or if one of these post-project requirements is not accomplished, the following things must occur:

    • Any residual, unused funds will be returned to the AACE AND
    • In the case of any misuse of funds, the grantee will be asked to refund the grant funds awarded in their entirety to AACE.
